In this section you may listen to three conversations I had with collaborators in Zurich on the notion of 'community', conversations that included questions and answers and ways to create the conditions to start a conversation.
The speech practice, started as a way to translate theoretical terms I was reading about through the body, so initially it was a movement improvisation. I worked this material with peers and collaborators. At some point, instead of inviting them to move (with) each term, I used the same terms to create a speech practice. Within that, I invited my peers- and I also performed it myself- to pick a term and imagine and describe how they would move to, with, it. I also asked them to record the oral description they imagined, and then listen to it and repeat the exercise. Finally, I asked them to listen to the recording and use it as a score to move in space with it.
The ones included here, are the imagined descriptions me or others have recorded (some are descriptions of others recorded by me).
